Find Your Muse Open Mic is Charlotte's premier open mic night. Each week we feature a special guest performer from around the region. Come out and see some of the area's best up & coming talent perform their latest original tunes. Always a fun time, hosted by the semi-hilarious Mr. Erik Button. Look forward to the start of a great Monday night at 7:30pm as you are greeted by the rest of our FYM team; Aaaaron at the door, Donniebaseball behind the bar serving up cold ones, and Normal Dennis doing his best at making it all sound great from behind the board. Sign ups are at 7:45, so come out and get your time slot. Participate in The "Bad-Ass" of the Week, and maybe win a $20 gift card. Rob Williams’ unique sound and style combine 90’s rock with alt-country and Americana influences. As front-man of the now defunct indie rock band, Joe Buck, Jr., Williams made a name for himself as a songwriter and performer in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia. This fall, the veteran songwriter will release his second solo album, Southern FM. Produced by Salim Nourallah (whose credits include Rhett Miller, Old 97’s, and The Damnwells), Southern FM finds Williams becoming more comfortable as a solo artist and building on the success of his 2013 debut, A Place in the Sun. “I wanted this record to be different,” Williams says, “so I made the decision to record it far away from home and with people I’ve never worked with before.” That decision landed him at Nourallah’s Pleasantry Lane Studio in Dallas. The result is an album that blends Williams’ penchant for hard-hitting acoustic roots rock, Nourallah’s innate knack for pop, and a touch of North Texas-style rock and roll. Williams will support the new release with a series of short regional tours.
