In case you missed (or just can't get enough of) the Charlotte Jewish Film Festival back in March, Levine JCC is offering a special encore screening of the previously shown and well-received documentary, Where I Stand: The Hank Greenspun Story. So, it must be good, but exactly who the hell is this Hank Greenspun anyway? Trust me that you're not alone in wondering this, as most folks don't have a clue. The widely unknown American — well, until Scott Goldstein enlightened the masses by directing this film — made some huge moves in the 20th century. He founded and published the Las Vegas Sun newspaper where he served as editor, helped smuggle guns to Israel and was tied to having information about Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal. These are just a few of the significant events he was involved in, but for more you'll have to check out the film — I'm not going to spoil it all. Narrated by Anthony Hopkins, the flick is captivating to say the least. $8. 7 p.m. Levine Jewish Community Center of Charlotte (held in Sam Lerner Center for Cultural Arts), 5007 Providence Road. 704-554-2059. www.charlottejewishfilm.org.
