Give into suspense and supplement your knowledge (whether you know you're doing it or not) of the Many-Worlds theory of quantum mechanics by checking out The Light Factory's screening at Duke Energy Theatre of Uncertainty, a film featured in the acclaimed 2008 Toronto Film Festival and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days Of Summer) and Lynn Collins (of Wolverine). In the film, the two act as a young couple torn over how they should spend the 4th of July. Two options -- spend a boring evening at a family barbecue or head to Manhattan for festivities -- are weighed and decided by a coin toss at the Brooklyn Bridge. Here's the twist: Viewers get to see how each alternative unfolds (the couple is wearing different colored shirts in each outcome, so you don't get confused). Though the Manhattan fare seems more pleasurable, it turns into an action-packed nightmare when a string of events, including a murder, lead to a chase by mobsters. $5-$7. 7:30 p.m. Duke Energy Theatre, 345 N. College St. 704-333-9755. www.lightfactory.org.
