Film: Lovestruck Pancho!

When: Fri., Sept. 16, 7 p.m. 2011

The red carpet will be rolled out for the premiere of Lovestruck Pancho!, a local production that was (take a deep breath) written, directed, produced, shot and edited by Duncan St. Clair. A romantic comedy in both English and Spanish (with English subtitles), this centers on the title character (played by Luis Vargas), a Mexican immigrant who refuses to let any language barriers prevent him from expressing his love for Queenie (Kelly McRorie). Boasting a cast whose members have roots in numerous countries (Chile, China and Peru among them), Lovestruck Pancho!, described by St. Clair as "being as much a community movement as an independent film," showcases various recognizable locations throughout its running time, including Freedom Park, Loft 1523 and Dressler's Restaurant.
