Falling Down Man Auction

DavidsonCollege professor P.Studtmann hosts auction benefitting Urban Ministry Center’s ArtWorks 945. Studtmann acquired "Falling Down Man" during his 2-year-long VanGoghProject, which was halted when his ninth trade, Charlie Spear’s “Falling Down Man,” was damaged during shipping. Spear’s painting, a commentary on homelessness, suddenly gained significance for Studtmann and Spear who believe the damaged piece is presently more symbolically complete. The event features live music, beer&wine, and artwork from homeless artists affiliated with ArtWorks945 ArtWorks945 is an outreach program that utilizes art to carry out UMC's mission of bringing the community together to end homelessness--one life at a time.
