Check out the 2nd and 3rd floors at the McColl Center for Visual Art for solo exhibitions by its 11-month affiliates. Daniel Allegrucci, best known for woodcuts of explosions and other intimations of force (such as the pictured "Explosion 15"), is jumping out of his comfort zone and adding installations to his repertoire. Patricia Steele Raible is exhibiting a series of mixed media paintings that explore different manifestations of prayer. Exhibits end on Jan. 8. Gallery hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. McColl Center for Visual Art, 721 N. Tryon St., Charlotte. 704-332-5535. www.mccollcenter.org.
