Election 2016, social issues and the media: Finding facts and covering sensitive community issues

Queens University of Charlotte (N.C.) Knight School of Communication and the American Press Institute will hold a Super Tuesday event to discuss some of the most divisive and difficult topics in this year’s presidential election. Speakers include: Marcus Bass, Democracy North Carolina and The Tribe; Ashley Williams, fellow at IgniteNC; Tami Fitzgerald, executive director at the NC Values Coalition; Jim Morrill, Charlotte Observer; and Glenn Burkins, Qcitymetro.com. The event will be held in the Sykes Building, Room 326. The lunch and event are free, but space is limited so register soon. Registration deadline is 9 a.m., Monday, Feb. 29.
