Dr. Cheryl Hicks, assistant professor of history, UNC Charlotte, brings forward the voices of black working-class women, especially southern migrants, in early 20th-century New York. In her book, Talk With You Like a Woman, and in her talk, she explores the impact of racism and sexism on these women and their families.
