About two dozen protesters march around the city followed by hundreds of police.
"I am here for the Democratic National Convention," said Peter Scott, 25, after staring down a line of police officers for a few minutes. "The police are doing imperialistic measures which they claim are a safety net."
Germ (name given by man in pig nose) said he is from North Carolina and only came out to join the march to see "how the police operate."
n American flag with corporate logos in place of stars hangs outside a tent in Marshall Park in Charlotte's uptown neighborhood. A person camped at the site told me there were between 40-50 tents in the park as of yesterday afternoon. The city is not enforcing a city ordinance which prohibits camping in the park and has even set up portable toilets next to the park for people camped in the park to use.
This line of police with bicycles outside the demonstrators camp in Marshall Park numbered well over 100.
