In the summer of 1942, young Anne Frank goes into hiding with her parents and another Jewish family in a secret annex in Amsterdam. They learn about arrests by the Nazis and the deaths camps where hundreds of Jews are sent each day. Despite their constant fear, Anne is determined to find reasons to celebrate, learn, and love in their increasingly tense living situation. Over all this are the haunting words from Anne’s diary documenting the experience until her words become the only thing that remains.
