DAVID WAX MUSEUM
Out of Charlottesville, Virginia, comes this husband-and-wife band (David Wax and Suz Slezak) that creates what they call Mexo-Americana music — a fusion of Mexican rhythms and Americana instruments including acoustic guitar and fiddle. The band’s fourth studio album, Guesthouse, was released in October. David Wax Museum’s cross-cultural approach is an amalgamation of the familiar and the unique. (Jeff Hahne)
