David Kroll: New Paintings

When: Sept. 5-Oct. 31 2014

The Seattle-based artist fuses landscapes and still lifes, but adds contemporary twists. Kroll goes deeper to juxtapose ideas about life, nature and the fluidity of change. Take, for example, his “Koi & Light Blue Vase,” which imposes a school of koi fish flapping above a vase. The fish flow freely and seem to represent natural and artificial, and ethereal vs. material.
