DAVID DONDERO
Author of such unheralded gems as 2003’s The Transient and 2010’s # Zero with a Bullet, the former South Carolinian transcends troubadour fare through consistently witty, dark and poignant lyrics. It’s the stuff only a slightly (and righteously) unhinged wanderer could come up with, folk/country/indie rock songs peopled with oddballs and iconoclasts encountered along the way. In 2006, NPR’s All Songs Considered called him one of our “best living songwriters," if you need that sort of thing. (John Schacht)
