If you're looking to drop it like it's hot, or shake ya tail feather, this event is not for you. However, Troika Ranch's 16 [R]evolutions seems like a fair exchange if you enjoy dance in general. The name derives from Coniglio and Stoppiello's creative methodology (yeah I know, but before you flip the page, let me explain), which involves a mixture of three artistic disciplines, dance, theater and media (Troika) in joint interaction (the Ranch). The purpose is to review the human effort dedicated to integrating the expressions of our souls with the intricate designs of our minds. Basically, this dance form is some deep shit; and I would argue there is a chance of walking out with a higher IQ. Through Feb. 7. 8 p.m. University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Anne R. Belk Theater, 9201 University City Blvd. 704-687-2599. www.performances.uncc.edu/dance.htm.
