In recent years, the sensual, seductive dance form know as belly dancing has become increasingly popular. Today, if you want to learn to belly dance, all you have to do is look for classes offered by fitness centers, dance studios or private instructors. Like any dance form, however, belly dancing takes a whole lot of two things: practice and skill. The constant circular motions, isolated to specific sectors of the body -- in addition to poise and balance -- are tough to grasp. For belly dance enthusiasts or those interested in the dance form, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center presents The Art of Bellydance. The show is set to feature a performance by the belly-dance troupe Bellydance Superstars. With a long list of past performances, including a 45-city tour as part of 2003's Lollapalooza, this troupe will undoubtedly provide a bellyful of dancing. $24.50 and up. 7:30 p.m. McGlohon Theatre, 345 N. College St. 704-372-1000. www.blumenthalcenter.org.
