When they recently performed amid the Hollywood glitter of Oscar Night®, you probably didn't hear that Pilobolus is named for a fungus that grows in cow dung. Yes, Pilobolus is a dance group like no other -- or it was when it sprang up on the Dartmouth College back in 1971. Imitators of their inspired form of human sculpture have propagated worldwide, but Pilobolus remain the perennial headliners at the annual American Dance Festival in Durham. Catch them and their adult content closer to home at Belk Theater. Deals available for Club Blume young adults and younger student adults. 8 p.m. $20-$50. Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, 130 N. Tryon St. 704-372-1000. www.blumenthalcenter.org.
