Crowntown Showdown: Same name, different bands

We might be promoting the hell out of the Crowntown Showdown each month, but are you aware the bands (and venue) are constantly changing?

Last month's show at the Double Door Inn kicked off with an entertaining set by a barefoot Jared Allan, followed by an amazing, atmospheric-instrumental set by Sea of Cortez. Kenni Falls showed off her acoustic prowess, Rock Hill's Elonzo performed their country with a hint of rock, Megan Jean and the Klay Family Band stomped away with their country, bluesy style and powerful vocals and Transmission Fields rocked out the closing set of the night.

This time around, the showcase is going to be at Snug Harbor on March 18. Five bucks will get you in to see Ben Henry's latest outfit The Have and The Have Nots plus Winston-Salem's Caleb Caudle & The Bayonets, Boston's Miss Tess & The Bon Ton Parade, Matthew Paul Butler, The Lights Fluorescent, and Crackers & Snackmeat. In addition to a bunch of great bands, we're also passing out copies of the last Homebrew CD in case you haven't gotten one yet. So, if you haven't made it out to one of these shows yet, what are you waiting for?
