From 860 A.D. China to 1950 Disney: the ancient fairy tale of the rich girl forced into servitude by a wicked stepmother, terrorized by her stepsister(s) and rescued by a fairy godmother to fulfill her destiny to become a princess is a tall order at best. But, it relates well to this slightly different tale of two finance lawyers turned fashion designers. Starr Ilzhofer (pictured right) made the first step toward destiny as a contestant on Season One of model Heidi Klum's "Project Runway." A little fairy magic was added when after she was eliminated from the competition, she met Christina Jacuzzo. Happily ever after became Sua Sponte, their new line debuting its Spring 2007 collection, inspired by and named for Cindy herself, at the Runway for the Ballet benefit. Runway for the Ballet will feature fashions from other boutiques as well as a performance by the North Carolina Dance Theatre, the organization it benefits. Tickets are $40. There will be two shows at 6 & 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5 in Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's Booth Playhouse. Details available at www.runwayfortheballet.com.
