Chris Peigler Punk Party- Part 1 f. Chalkies, Aloha Broha, The Fill Ins, Moenda, MSCB

When: Fri., Feb. 14 2014

In the regional music scene, Chris Peigler was a staple presence. He was a long-running musician, promoter, social activist and a damn fine, all-around nice guy. He would be standing near the stage at countless shows, his hat tipped just so, showing a big grin of someone who genuinely enjoyed being there, talking up music, especially indie and punk rock. He played with Intensive Care, Proletariat Madonna, My So-Called Band and his final band, The Rogue Nations. Sadly, Peigler passed away on Jan. 8 due to illness, a couple of weeks shy of his 51st birthday. The local music community is putting on a two-night tribute to Peigler and his spirited musical life. Too many bands are playing to list here, but highlights include the remaining members of My So-Called Band performing on Part I (Friday) and punk legends ANTiSEEN headlining on Part II (Saturday). Needless to say, almost all bands playing were touched by Peigler’s unpretentious support. Expect plenty of killer music along with hearty remembrances of Chris. All proceeds from these two events will be donated to his surviving mother, Hazel. (Samir Shukla)
