Charlotte's own The Talk are charting on the FMQB SubModern Specialty Chart. Their single, "Valentine's Day," is currently #14 (tied with Belle & Sebastian and Death Cab for Cutie) and their album, No, You Shut Up! (MoRisen Records) is on the album chart at #15 (tied with Foo Fighters). FMQB (FMQB.com) is a national radio magazine covering comings and goings in the recording and radio industries. The Talk will play The Room on December 3, opening for The Star Spangles...Joe Estes from Star Climber announced that his band has hired radio promoter Shawn Moseley to push their new single, "BigStar," to radio. Estes also announced that the group has added Ken Ogden, formerly of the band Karma, on bass...The aforementioned MoRisen Records announced that it has recently signed the Charlotte-based rock outfit Elevator Action, with plans to release the band's label debut in the spring of 2004. Elevator Action is now focusing on material for their MoRisen debut, and will begin pre-production this month at a new studio in Charlotte operated by Justin Faircloth of the Houston Brothers. Elevator Action will then head to New York City later this fall to record their debut...Peralta have signed a small record deal with Green Dot Music, as well as a management deal. The Latin rockers plan to hit the studio in November and December, a band spokesman said.
