A Charlotte resident since 1993, Charles Holloman has cemented himself deep within the local music scene through his recording studio, Charles Holloman Productions. After just a few minutes of conversation, you know that his work is a labor of love. From Anthony Hamilton and Matrimony to Andy the Doorbum and Bless These Sounds Under the City, from custom original jingles to movie dialogue and voiceovers for Banshee, CHP has become a go-to recording studio — at all hours of the day.
Late-night jam sessions between Holloman, who is also a guitarist, and various local musicians have inspired countless tunes — most of them archived for future projects or a rainy day, perhaps. "I have at least 15 or 20 songs waiting for me to finish them, but I'm always moving on to the next thing which catches my eye," Holloman says. "Music is very personal to people. Most people are just trying to express themselves. I just like working with talented, creative people."
