What could be a more natural accompaniment to summer's balmy heat than sweet reggae music? Its tropical groove is uplifting, and the music's oft-cited positive vibrations are, for the most part, truly palpable. The abrupt arrival of summer this year brings rare appearances by a couple of Jamaican icons. The Carolina Reggae Fest at the Oasis Shrine Auditorium on Wednesday, June 15, features co-headliners and reggae veterans Marcia Griffiths and Beres Hammond, along with an array of followers including lover boy Wayne Wonder.

Others performing at Reggae Fest are R&B singer Jimmy Cozier, dancehall staple Mega Banton, Cha cha Reble, Stacey Ann and The Harmony House Singers and House musicians.
