Born and raised in the small North Carolina town, the tasty, cherry beverage first popped on the scene back in 1917 during a sugar shortage. Luckily for you, there will be no shortages of prizes, entertainment and maybe even Cheerwine-tainted slushies and ice cream. Better yet, those who are 90 years old or older get special treatment.
