Cannabis Wins from Coast to Coast

Recreational cannabis had a big night at the ballot box.

As the election results rolled in this month, cannabis initiatives were revealed across the country. Red states legalized cannabis and the northeast grows its cannabis footprint.

Voters approved a series of statewide ballot proposals on Election Day legalizing the use and distribution of marijuana for either medical or adult-use purposes. Though it won't become legal immediately, voters in Arizona, Montana, New Jersey, and South Dakota overwhelmingly cleared cannabis for adult use, bringing the total number of states that have approved it for that purpose to 15. Additionally, voters in Mississippi backed the creation of a medical cannabis program.
