There are certain singers who can convey emotion through a simple note. When Brandi Carlile belts out “Pride and Joy” or “The Story,” you can feel it shift the weight in the room. She can sing sweetly, have her voice crack as it builds power and bring tears to eyes and the listener shares the lyrics as if they are their own.
