Don’t be surprised if you see some far-out depictions of plant life in Genome’s Botanica. The exhibit, curated by Florida artist Scott Scheidly, features surreal paintings created to fit the botany-centered theme. More than 25 artists — Scheidly, Dan May, Jason Limon, Joe Vaux, and Nathan Spoor, among others — contributed works that stem beyond typical blossoms and greenery. This means toothy, big-mouthed and blood-thirsty Little Shop of Horrors-like offspring is somewhere in the mix. That ought to have you thinking twice before you forget to water the house plants again!
