An Obamanation: President Obama was stolen from a home off Chinchister Lane. A photo of President Obama, that is. The owner of the home called police after someone broke in and stole a coffee table, a book shelf and a framed photo of the commander in chief worth $167.
Pickled herb: A routine traffic stop off Commons East Drive resulted in police retrieving a marijuana pipe, a grinder and $60 worth of weed contained not in a regular ol' baggie but in a mason jar. Only in the South.
The Intimidator: Someone decided to take the fun they had at Carowinds to a nearby gas station. Police were called after a man was allegedly loitering near a convenience store in the area. When an officer approached the visibly intoxicated suspect, he pointed a finger in the police man's face and refused to leave the store's property. The suspect was arrested and charged with disruptive behavior and public intoxication.
Mother nature attacks: In what has to be the third incident of its kind in recent months, a man called police after a tree branch snapped and hit his vehicle, resulting in damage to the truck's hood and left front quarter panel.
Missing soul: A woman called police after someone stole the shoe — just one — she had left on the back counter of a Dress Barn off Steele Creek Road. The thief could have at least had the decency to take both.
Unlucky charm: They say the Irish are lucky, but apparently that doesn't apply to their soap. An area CVS called police after someone made off with about $19 worth of Irish Springs.
