The title of Selena Beaudry's latest exhibit at Hidell Brooks Gallery fits the purpose of sounding out the funky art components of piles, collages and paintings it represents. Comparing her works to words, thoughts and sounds, Beaudry makes use of zig zags and shape oddities reminiscent of graffiti goulash. She has a tendency toward building cut-up pieces of painted paper into intricately layered compositions. They don't scream collage as much as mirage, with bursts of color and brush strokes to keep the eyes poppin'.
