I know this event is a sore subject for those unable to get tickets. Many of these dinners were sold out to large corporate sponsors before being announced to the general public, but as I was frequently reminded by the organizing staff, the Charlotte Food and Wine Weekend is a charity event. In any case, these dinners gave a number of area chefs the opportunity to showcase their extraordinary abilities. (And the wine wasn't so bad, either.) Toques off to chefs Christopher Ivens-Brown of Bank of America, Bruce Moffett of Barrington's, Mickael Blais of Bistro 100, Blake Hartwick of Bonterra, Mike Vergili of Carmel Country Club, Roberto Jimenez of McIntosh, Christopher Zion of The Meeting House, Blake Dewey of Pewter Rose, Yosief Drear of Primo Tuscan Grille, Tim Groody of Sonoma Bistro, Tom Condron of Upstream, and Jim Alexander of Zebra.
