Childers' mix of early rock minimalism, Springsteen-esque power rockers, and low-fi acoustic breakdowns makes this an easy choice. No matter the style, it never sounds forced with the man they call "DC." And what is forcing something but attempting to pass on something that won't pass on its own? Childers, it seems, would just as soon pass altogether as play something for ulterior motives like airplay and the like. God bless him.
