Combining indie rock with world music flourishes, Beirut has been able to forge a unique path for itself. Frontman Zach Condon, who started Beirut on his own before expanding to a band, is a multi-instrumentalist at heart, playing ukelele, horns and a synthesizer. The music can be danceable, they can hit the right notes with harmonies and have you altogether wondering how many different inspirations they have. (Jeff Hahne)
