Beavers invade IMAX Dome Theatre

Nov. 18

comment

Beavers is the title and subject of the newest IMAX Dome experience opening Nov. 18 at Discovery Place. It will continue through the spring. The film tells the story of two young beavers that leave the shelter and companionship of their overcrowded colony to find and build a new home. They travel over land and water in a danger-filled search for an adequate building site. In the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, the beavers set to work shaping their newly claimed territory. Using the finest woodcutting tools available (sharp teeth and powerful jaws), the beavers build a dam that will protect their lodge, while holding back millions of gallons of water. Beavers won the Jury Prize and shared the Public Prize at the Second International IMAX/OMNIMAX Film Festival. Discovery Place is located at 301 N. Tryon St. Show times and other information on the film are available by calling 704-372-6261, ext. 300, or by logging onto www.discoveryplace.org.
