Bad Milo

When: Thu., Oct. 10, 7:30 p.m. 2013

Just how exactly does one bond with a colon polyp? That question is answered in an absurd and horrific fashion in Jacob Vaughn’s black comedy Bad Milo. It’s OK if you’re still not following. After all, a film that centers on a man having irritable bowel movements due to stress is a rarity. What’s even more rare is a creature that comes straight from the butthole. Yes, Milo — who looks like a mix-up between a gremlin, E.T. and that stubby baby from Dinosaurs — is intestinally linked to the film’s protagonist, Duncan (Ken Marino). But Milo’s causing more trouble out than in. He begins viciously killing anything that upsets Duncan’s stomach, leaving him to clean up the mess. To help rectify what’s turning into a bloody affair and disrupting his relationship with his wife, Sarah (Gillian Jacobs), Duncan is encouraged (by a shrink) to bond with the demonic minion. Think about that the next time you’re on the toilet! The film screens as part of Back Alley Film Series. For more information, visit www.backalleyfilmseries.com.
