The Carolina Catholic Chorale will present a Lenten devotional Adoramus te, Christe featuring fourteen polyphonic settings sung as responses to the Stations of the Cross. Adoramus te, Christe is taken from an antiphon from Good Friday translated as We adore thee, O Christ, and we bless thee: because by thy holy cross thou hast redeemed the world. Settings by Renaissance masters include Handl, Lassus, Monteverdi, Viadana, and many more. These works are well suited to the acoustics of the Basilica.
