Providence Gallery's newest exhibition Mixed Company features two artists whose works could be seen within the realm of art as being just a little mixed-up. But, that's OK. When was normal ever fun? Rod Wimer uses deft melding for the vast monochromatic tones and textures within each of his art pieces, while Jean Cauthen paints mostly landscapes and other random things (like the popular puppet Pinocchio) that catch her interest. See both artists artwork at this exhibition which will go on through Oct. 31. Free. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Providence Gallery, 601 Providence Road., Suite A. 704-333-4535. www.providencegallery.net.
