Come one, come all! Step right to see something truly amazing ... years ago, stories were performed using "magic" lanterns and rear projectors to create dancing shadows (ghosts) to frighten unsuspecting crowds. Phantasmagoria: Specters of Absence is hoping to re-animate this old art form invented in France in the late 18th century and re-frame it around contemporary issues like absence and loss. This traveling exhibition will be on display through April 26. Opening Reception: 6-9 p.m. McColl Center for Visual Art, 721 N. Tryon St. 704-332-5535. www.mccollcenter.org.
