Are you a film buff? Here’s a way to support local filmmakers!

Melody McClellan is a local singer and actor, and she has just written her first short film! “Check, Please” is the story of a man and a woman who have been friends forever, and sometimes more than friends. Will their feelings change as they grow up? Melody plays Mallory, and Max is played by local singer/songwriter/performer Denver Crites (@denvercriteslive).

“Check, Please” is almost fully cast, featuring many other Charlotte actors. It will be shot and produced by Shutter Blade Media (@shutterbladefilms) and directed by Pat Dortch (@pat_dortch_actor) whose recently-created pilot “LIMBO” (@limboseries) is currently making waves on the film festival circuit.

“Check, Please” is set to film in November. They are currently crowdfunding to raise their budget via Seed&Spark (@seedandspark), a site that supports independent filmmakers and emphasizes diversity in film. To contribute and earn incentives for yourself, visit seedandspark.com/fund/check-please.
