Are We Humane Art Exhibit

When: Fri., Aug. 4, 7-10 p.m. 2017

Figurative work that is drawn directly from the life going on around the artist, in the places they work and live, has the inevitable effect of creating a visual record of a city's literal and metaphorical landscapes, one that is unique to each artist. Mark Doepker's many works can be seen as time capsules through the image or titles which bear reference to specific events. Hannah Barnhardt has pursued drawing from life & urban sketching as a daily practice, compiling a visual archive of the Charlotte area with works that speak to inequality, gentrification, and class division.
