South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, 8601 Bryant Farms Road, Charlotte, NC 28277, will host Anna Whiston-Donaldson, author of Rare Bird, Sunday, January 24. On an ordinary day, Anna's son is swept away in a freak neighborhood flood. In Rare Bird, she unfolds a mother’s story of loss that leads, in time, to enduring hope. At 9am, she will share ideas of how churches and communities can support families in crisis and grieving families. She will speak at 5pm in Mecklenburg Hall followed by a reception and book signing.
