One of Charlotte’s more talented visual artists, Sharon Dowell, will show her latest works in After;. We’re not sure exactly what “after” refers to in this exhibit, but it’s loaded with meaning: after the spate of cop killings of black men and women, after the Charlotte Uprising, after an ugly presidential election marked by racism and misogyny, after the Charlottesville tragedy. We are living in a world brimming with life after trauma, and we suspect Dowell will allude to it.
