Creative Loafing celebrates its 27th birthday this month, and what better way to do this than with the fruits of the barley and hops gods — mmmm, beer.

We've partnered with our friends at Birdsong Brewing Co. to create a limited edition of our very own beer. That's right, you can now put Creative Loafing in your mouth. Lucky you.

Here's the description of the beer:
Rye Pale Ale
ABV 4.9 percent
IBU 30
On the nose, it has light floral and grassy aroma with a slight hint of lemon. Its delicate pepper flavors mingle nicely with a citrus undertone and it has just enough toastiness to delight your senses. It's light in taste and ABV with a well-balanced flavor that warrants another pint.

This tasty brew is rightfully named 'Loafy's Rye-Venge'. Why? Because our good friend Loafy, loyal CL mascot, is making his return shortly... plus who doesn't love a good play on words?!

Join us on Saturday, April 26 from 7 to 10pm at Birdsong Brewing Co in NoDa as we will be celebrating our 27th birthday and raising a glass to all things Creative Loafing. The Tin Kitchen will be onsite offering a special dish made with Loafy's Rye-venge and King of Pops will also be offering up specialty brew pops for the occasion. And there may or may not be birthday cake as well (spoiler alert: there will be birthday cake).
