When: Fri., July 17, 12-1 p.m. 2015
Dr. Stephen Criswell, Ph.D. will be discussing the history behind the Carolina Piedmont’s family-owned seafood restaurants that scale the highways along the local rivers, lakes, and tributaries. Despite the threat from chain restaurants, these fish camps still prevail. Dr. Criswell is a native of the one-time fish mecca Gaston County, NC and will unfold this tradition. The Native American Studies Center invites all to attend free monthly lectures with topics related to local or regional history. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
