Kia O. Moore is a regular CL contributor who holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is passionate about pop culture studies and issues relating to diversity in Charlotte. Her writing has appeared in numerous publications including Creative Loafing, Qcity Metro and Charlotte Viewpoint. Moore, the founder of Charlotte's Hip Hop University and Hip Hop Orchestrated, is a 2016 recipient of the Knight Foundation and 8 80 Cities' Emerging City Champions fellowship program for young civic innovators with transformative ideas.
