At this point, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has become almost a world-music cliché — the stereotype for Americans who like their Mbube with a little sugar to make it go down more easily. That doesn’t mean it’s not worth catching the legendary South African group's spectacular voices any time they perform in the area, and tonight they’re performing near Charlotte. The vocal group, popularized on Paul Simon’s 1986 album Graceland, will be at Wingate University’s George A. Batte, Jr. Fine Arts Center. Ladysmith’s latest release is last year’s children’s collection, Songs from a Zulu Farm.
