Hopscotch hits Raleigh this weekend

The Hopscotch Music Festival hits Raleigh this weekend, with Friday and Saturday tickets still available.

Shows start tonight with bands performing at a variety of venues around the city — from the Pour House and Lincoln Theatre to Five Star and The Union. You can find a full schedule online here.

Among those performing today are Black Lips, J Mascis, Mandolin Orange, Reading Rainbow, Jeff the Brotherhood and Charlotte's Yardwork.

Friday will be highlighted by Guided By Voices, The Dodos, Drive-By Truckers, Annuals, The Foreign Exchange, Swans, Japandroids, Vivian Girls, Frontier Ruckus and Charlotte's Temperance League, Brain F≠ and Dylan Gilbert.

Saturday will feature the Flaming Lips, Superchunk, Toro y Moi, Future Islands, Yelawolf, Lost in the Trees, Titus Andronicus, Des Ark, The Old Ceremony and Charlotte's Jon Lindsay.

The bands playing Raleigh City Plaza are The Dodos, Drive-By Truckers and Guided By Voices on Friday, Sept. 9th, and The Light Pines, Superchunk, and The Flaming Lips on Saturday, Sept. 10th. These shows will begin around 5:30 p.m. and end by 10 p.m.

The rest of the 130-plus acts will play at these 11 clubs: Berkeley Café, The Pour House, The Lincoln Theatre, Slim’s, Tir Na Nog, Five Star, The Hive @ Busy Bee, Deep South Bar, Kings, Fletcher Opera Theater, and White Collar Crime.

Raleigh City Plaza is all ages. The Lincoln Theatre, Fletcher Opera Theater, Tir Na Nog, Berkeley Cafe, Kings, Five Star and White Collar Crime are 18+. The Pour House, The Hive, Slim's and Deep South are 21+.
