Going out in Charlotte doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, to prove that statement, we've compiled a list of cheap - $10 or less - things to do in the Q.C. this weekend. These events may vary, but they're all entertaining and they won't break your bank (piggy banks excluded).

Play Date Charlotte at Tempo: What adult doesn't like to play games like Uno, Connect 4, and Twister, after a few drinks? This popular Tempo event is a great place for fun and socializing. $10-$15. National Dance Day at Wells Fargo Plaza: Forget whatever shame you have about dancing and let your feet loose during National Dance Day. Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer of So You Think You Can Dance, created this event to promote health and self-esteem through dance. Dance activities for beginners and advanced dancers alike. GanttFest at Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture: The day-long celebration of art and culture of the Diaspora will feature guided tours of the museum's exhibits, workshops and activities for children, performances, and film screenings. There will also be an outdoor Food Truck Rodeo with Belly Backers, Unique Endeavors, The Chrome Toaster, Southern Cake Queen and Goldfingers. $5. July 26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Harvey B. Squirt: Permanent Vacation Day Party at Snug Harbor: This day party features live music from Iris Code, Civil Union, Rocca, and WYMYNS PRYSYN and DJs, including Brisket Boyz, Edward Shouse and STRTR. Ghostbusters at ImaginOn: The summer film series Made in 1984: Hollywood Movies from 30 Years Ago concludes with a screening of Ghostbusters, one of the biggest blockbusters of its decade. Bill Murray (in a terrific performance), Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis play the title trio, ridding the Big Apple of supernatural entities in humorous fashion. The amusing visual effects and Ray Parker Jr.’s catchy theme song both earned Oscar nominations. Free admission.
