YOUNG AND IN THE WAY
There will be (pig’s) blood. Young and In the Way has obtained a certain notoriety for leaving a bloody mess in the wake of its performances. Last month, the band created so unruly a mess at an Asheville venue, the club was forced to shut down for a few days. But to focus on the artifice — and it is artifice — is to lose sight entirely of the band’s potent blackened crust metal, a visceral and vital force in the Carolinas’ metal scene. (Patrick Wall)
