I have a confession to make ... I used to cheat in high school. I never read a single book assigned -- I merely read Cliff's Notes and wrote my way to an A via the essay question. And ... I cheated on my high school sweetheart.

It took me as long to garner forgiveness as it did to figure out why I did it. But I did figure out that I never want to betray someone ever again. I wrote it off like an underage juvenile offense ... because everything before 18 doesn't count and gets taken off your record -- except when it comes to karma.

If you're always wondering what's on the other side of the No. 2 door, then why even close the door and be in a relationship? It's not fair to lock someone in while you're off wandering through the neighbor's greener grass ... or Suite, Halo or SouthPark.

The club scene is quite often the scene of the cheating crime -- because it's more of a cesspool than a sea with available fish in it, and sometimes cocktails equate to cocks looking for tail. And between advancements in technology and deductions of fabric in fashion, the temptations and convenience of executing them are stronger than a Jager bomb. Do we need to incorporate "Thou will not go out to the bar and flirt with other people" in wedding vows?

Speaking of flirting -- is flirting cheating? By giving or getting attention from the opposite sex instigated by a mutual attraction, are you cheating on your significant other? If you ask me, anything to make them feel insignificant in regards to loyalty is cheating.

So why do we cheat? I have come to the conclusion that I wanted to resurrect that nervousness you feel in the beginning of a romance -- that which has a tendency of wearing off after you get comfortable in a relationship. Well, you shouldn't do that with someone other than your special someone. Don't confuse the Za-Za-Zu with the Za-Za-Eww -- those aren't butterflies, you're just drunk. Alcohol is not an excuse, nor does it get excused.

I can't tell you why other people cheat, but I can tell you that if you can find a person you can trust, don't discount them, even if they aren't the homebody type.
