2013 CIAA Toyota Fan Experience The CIAA Fan Experience is a family-friendly event with celebrity appearances by Lance Gross, Yolanda Adams, Lloyd, Bridget Kelly, Chrisette Michele, Musiq Soulchild, and more. 3rd Annual Charlotte Black Film Festival. The three-day long CBFF features an assortment of screenings, workshops, lectures and panel discussions, networking functions, and an awards ceremony for works by African-American filmmakers. Mint to Move Cultural Dance Night and First Look Friday. Mint Museum Uptown presents music from DJ Pepito and a dance floor for Afro-Cuban and Latin-influenced dancing such as salsa, bachata, merengue, and cha-cha. Light hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, and curator tours of F.O.O.D. (Food, Objects, Objectives, Design) at 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Two other new exhibits — Sociales: Debora Arango Arrives Today, and Return to the Sea: Motoi Yamamoto — will also be on view and visitors can watch internationally-known artist Motoi Yamamoto work on a temporary installation made of salt in the atrium. The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity. In Kristoffer Diaz's play, a wrestler named Mace pairs himself with a newbie in an attempt to overthrow the popularity of wrestler Chad Deity and go onscreen as a "terrorists" duo. $18-$28. The Whipping Man. In this play by Matthew Lopez, a Jewish Confederate soldier returns home to find only rubble and two former slaves. The Ultimate Hip-Hop Experience Music Festival & Entertainment Summit.
