Goodie bag: A 29-year-old Georgia man was ready for anything when he ventured to North Carolina last week, except for thieves. The man reported that his car was broken into while he was in his hotel room off Tyvola Road and a bag was stolen. The camouflage backpack contained a handgun, four boxes of assorted ammo, safety glasses, ear protection and a hunting knife.

Peeping Tommy Gun: A 46-year-old man filed a police report after finding what no father wants to find: a hole drilled into his daughter's bedroom leading to outside. After further inspection he found that the hole, three inches in diameter, was not drilled in order to spy on his daughter but was left by a bullet that went through his drywall. Which option is worse was left up to the father to decide.

Vehicle inspection: A 26-year-old woman filled out yet another police report after her car was rummaged through for the third time in less than half a year. The woman told officers that she made sure to lock her vehicle before leaving it overnight and that it was still locked when she returned to it. Yet someone still managed to go through her glove box and steal a bag of candy from the backseat.

Power Trip: Police responded to an assault call in the Hidden Valley neighborhood last week after a Duke Energy customer expressed his anger with the company in a really confrontational way. When police arrived, they found a Duke employee who told them that a man came out of his home and pointed a silver handgun at him because he was there to shut off the power due to unpaid bills.

Batter Up: Nine teenagers were listed as victims in a report out of Butler High School last week after someone left the softball team with hardly any equipment to play their next game. The thieves came to the softball field overnight and cut through a fence to steal $2,400 worth of sports equipment, including bats, gloves, helmets and bags.

Light Him Up: A man on Albemarle Road used an unusually cruel tactic to carry out an armed robbery last week. The suspect threw gasoline on the victim and held out a lighter, threatening to set him on fire. He then forced his way into the victim's apartment and took $500.

Stick It: A burglar left a west Charlotte woman twiddling her thumbs last week after stealing something very personal. The suspect, who is known to the victim, left her home with a pile of clothes, $250 worth of makeup and her dildo.

Mentally Unbalanced: A man was arrested in west Charlotte for trying to drive his moped while he was heavily intoxicated with his 5-year-old son on the back. In an unrelated incident, a Myers Park High School student was reported for telling someone, "Security here is slack, and it would be easy to come to this school and shoot up the place."
